Trophies, jerseys and countless awards adorn the walls in Howard Weinstein’s Deerfield Beach office, bearing testament to a storied athletic career.
This gentle giant takes immense pride in his days on the court as star forward for the Farleigh Dickinson University basketball team. After graduation, Weinstein was the No. 1 draft choice into the Eastern League by the Trenton Pat Pavers. The following year, he was invited to attend the New York Knicks training camp, and was the final cut. Finally, after spending three years playing on the USA-touring basketball team in Europe, Weinstein, known affectionately as "Howie", retired from professional sports. Since then, Howie has spent the last few decades specializing in a different kind of "assist" – helping seniors. After his sports career, Howie found a calling in the medical supply business. He explains, ''It has always been my nature to want to help people. I think that God made me so big so I could actually assist those in need of physical services. I treat all my patients just like they were my parents."
As owner of Total Medical Health Services in Deerfield Beach, Howie serves his patients well. Always increasing his awareness of the needs of the community, he continues to offer new supplies, innovative equipment, physical therapy and more to individuals, nursing homes, and senior communities.
